Winter Break Holiday Homework(29th December till 10th January)

Dear Parents,
The children have worked hard since the beginning of the new session and deserve a break. To this end, we at D.A.V. have compiled some activities that your child will find both enjoyable and rewarding. The assigned activities have been designed to reinforce essential skills learnt at school and to help students establish regular habits. Home Work also provides the parents an opportunity to participate in their child’s education. However, we would like to add a word of caution here- While parental involvement in H.W is important, they need to ensure that their level of involvement is appropriate. When children do require and ask for help, parents can be more effective by helping them find answers for themselves rather than by actually providing the answers. We suggest that you help your children by discussing/ explaining the task and in helping them stay focused while completing the assignment.
English:
1. Do the reading practice of alphabets a to z with their phonic soundsdaily.
2. Buy a separate notebook and write 1 page each daily of small alphabets ato z (with pictures) and capital alphabets A TO Z(with pictures).Also colour the pictures.
3. Make your child learn any 1 short story each in English and in Hindi (5- 6 lines) of your choice for the story narration competition to be held after the vacations. Make prop for the same.
4. Help your ward in doing the below given worksheet as well.
E.V.S.:
1. Make your ward learn 2-3 lines each on any 2 “Our Helpers”.
2. Collect the pictures from the magazines, newspapers, books, etc. and make a beautiful chart on any 1 Season (out of the three)-Winter Season, Summer Season and Rainy Season. Send it back when the school reopens.
Maths:
1. Make your ward practice counting 1 to 10 orally.
2. Write 1 page of counting 1 to 10 daily.
3. Revise all the work done in the class so far.
4. Help your ward in doing the below given worksheet.
Art and Craft:
Make beautiful flash cards of the following of size-- 5/6 inches on the ivory sheet. Also laminate them properly.
English----Alphabets Aa to Zz (with pictures)
Hindi ----Vyanjan
Maths ---- Numbers 1 to 10 (with pictures).
